The XC70 has virtually the same dimensions as the V70 wagon. Both have four-doors and two rows of seating that accommodate up to five passengers. In addition, both have a very useful 71.4 cubic feet of cargo volume. There is only one 2013 Volvo XC70 trim offered, and it is very well equipped. Standard features include a tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, heated front bucket seats, a memory system (driver seat, mirrors), an AM/FM/cassette/CD player, and outside-temperature indicator and rain-sensing wipers. Like all the Volvos in this new generation, the lines of the XC70 are more curvaceous, their proportions more pleasing than those of the boxy Volvos of the not-so-distant past. The exterior design features a sporty, low hood that sweeps back in a wedge profile to a relatively high trunk. The side windows are fairly large, making the XC70 appear bigger than it actually is. Volvo designers refined the basic look last year with better-integrated bumpers, dual headlights, clear-lens taillights, and reshaped front fenders.
