Redline rpm is 6000 for the first three and 6500 for the last model that is Ralliart. Bore and stroke in (mm) is 81.5 x 95.8 for ES, LS and O.Z Rally whereas 87.0 x 100.0 for Ralliart. Compression Ratio has been maintained at 9.5:1 for all the trims. Valve train has 16-valve SOHC as standard for first three models and MIVEC 16-valve SOHC for the last model. All the models come with multi-port fuel injection. All the models are front wheel drive with stainless steel exhaust system and 85 and 110 Amps alternators for first three and Ralliart respectively. 4-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control is available for all the trims however 5-speed manual transmission is standard for all except Lancer LS. Unibody construction is standard for all trims.

Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering is standard for all trims with steering ratio as 14.7 as standard for all. Curb-to-Curb turning diameter in ft. is 32.8 for ES 33.5 for LS & O.Z Rally and 37.4 for Ralliart. Power-assist ventilated front disc/ rear drum brakes (in., front/rear) 10.1/8.0 is standard for ES, LS and O.Z Rally. Power-assist ventilated front disc and solid rear disc brakes of in. 10.9/10.3 are standard for Ralliart. Wheels are 14" steel with full covers for ES, 15" steel with full covers for LS, 15" O.Z racing alloys for O.Z Rally and 16" Euro-flange alloys for Ralliart. All-season tires are P185/65 R14 for ES trim, P195/60 R15 for LS and O.Z Rally and P205/50 R16 for Ralliart.
