2013 Mercury Mountaineer Review Pictures
The 2013
Mercury Mountaineer , if you're looking for a dependable and reliable
SUV. With available V-6 and V-8 engines , each of these models, no
matter which one you choose, delivers toughness and ruggedness you
can count on. Its features also prepare to shield you from the worst.
On the inside, you'll enjoy up to 7-passenger seating with the benefit
of a standard 3rd-row seat. It comes standard with a V-6 SOHC engine,
but for those who demand extra power and enhanced towing capabilities,
the Mountaineer offers an available aluminum-block 4.6-liter SOHC
V-8 .With advanced engine management components, this multiport fuel
injection engine offers Mercury's 239 horsepower that generates 282
pounds per foot of torque. It presents a bold, expressive design.
Its innovative chassis and suspension offer a smooth ride.
Completely re-engineered for 2013, the 2013 Mercury Mountaineer boasts
a new frame, a new independent rear suspension, a new front suspension,
new steering, new seating formats, and a raft of new standard and
optional features. The Premier Package now includes a power moonroof
and Safety Canopy airbags. It combines convenience and versatility
with luxurious accommodations. It's comfortable on long trips. Its
features and ergonomics make living with it a very pleasant experience.
Available 2nd-row bucket seats and the midyear offering of an antiskid
system highlight 2013 changes to the Mountaineer. The 3rd row can
be deleted for credit, and 2nd-row bucket seats are now optional on
Luxury and Premier. All offer a V6 or V8 engine and rear-wheel drive
or all-wheel drive without low-range gearing. A 5-speed automatic
transmission and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are standard.
Power-adjustable pedals are standard on Luxury and Premier, optional
on Convenience. A rear-obstacle-warning system is standard on Premier
and optional on other Mountaineers. A rear DVD entertainment system
is optional on Luxury and Premier. At midyear, a tire-pressure monitor
became standard, and Ford's AdvanceTrac antiskid system joined the
options list. The 2013 Mercury Mountaineer performance and accommodations
mirror those of like-equipped Explorers. Our Recommended choices feature
more-traditional SUVs: Ford Explorer, GMC Envoy, and Toyota 4Runner.
All offer optional V8 engines and low-range gearing for off-road driving.
The sportiest SUV in the class, it offers lots of room for passengers
and cargo, but lacks refinement when compared to the Toyota or Honda.
