2013 Mazda 6 Review Pictures
The 2013
Mazda6 is a compact sports sedan that is about to be joined by a few
siblings. In the compact class, there are models that truly fit the
designation and those that really could be in the midsize class. There
are plenty of available options to increase the ride comfort. One
of note is the Luxury Package, which lives up to its name by offering
leather upholstery, an 8-way power driver seat and heated power mirrors
and front seats. It is fairly sleek, but mostly modest. However, an
optional Sport Package will change that. It adds body cladding, a
rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets and fog lights. It offers 160 horsepower
at 6000 rpm and 155 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. 5-speed manual and
4-speed automatic transmissions are available.
The s model certainly makes the 2013 Mazda6 a formidable sedan. It
provides a 3.0-liter V6 engine that will generate 220 horsepower at
6300 rpm and 192 LB-ft of torque at 5000 rpm. To this engine is mated
either 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. The standard
traction control and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, which are both
optional . It's also a great looking car, with more personality than
the Accord, Camry or Malibu, and perhaps the Altima, depending on
your taste. This car really does look fast standing still, particularly
with the optional GFX body work. The look is crisp and clean, from
front to back. A strong front end carries the Mazda family look in
its blacked out grille. The stance is raked, from the sharply creased
hood and narrow headlights (which integrate the fog lights) to a lofty
trunk topped by a predominant rear spoiler.
The interior design is as sporting as the bodywork. The gauge cluster
is dominated by a large metal-ringed speedometer on the right and
tachometer on the left, with white on black lettering by day and red
on black by night. Audio, heating and power window controls are also
illuminated in red. The standard cloth covered seats are firm and
supportive and the ribbed material feels durable. The driver's seat
is power adjustable in eight different directions and has a manual
lumbar adjustment as well. Coupled with the tilt and telescoping steering
wheel, it is easy to find a comfortable driving position. The 2013
Mazda6 is sportier than the other cars in the midsize class, both
in its appearance and in its handling and driving dynamics. It's more
agile and holds the road better than the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord,
or Nissan Altima. It is lighter on its feet and stops quicker. In
short, it's a better driver's car.
