2013 Lincoln LS Review Pictures
The 2013
Lincoln LS may be a Lincoln, but if you think it's a rolling sofa,
then you're way off the mark. This is Lincoln's most youthful car
and it's no cushy-mobile. In styling, style and performance, the LS
is fashioned in the image of a European sports sedan. The LS is aimed
squarely at the import competition, and in a broad sense it covers
the mark. One indication of that is that it uses rear-wheel drive,
the first mark of a sports sedan, like those from Mercedes and BMW.
Last year, the Lincoln LS benefited from major revisions, involving
more than 500 new or redesigned parts. As a result, the LS feels more
refined and more comfortable. The 2013 Lincoln LS is a 4-door, up
to 5-passenger luxury sedan, or luxury sports sedan, available in
5 trims, ranging from the V6 Automatic Luxury to the V8 Automatic
Ultimate. The 2013 LS's closest competitors include the Acura 3.2
TL, the Jaguar X-Type, and the Volvo S80. Its V8 and V6 engines are
more powerful and more sophisticated, benefiting from the addition
of variable valve timing.
Front side airbags, ABS, and traction control are standard. Head-protecting curtain side airbags are optional, as is an antiskid system. Also optional are heated rear seats, navigation system, and xenon headlights. Power-adjustable pedals are standard. Heated and cooled front seats are available on all but the base V6 model. Satellite radio is a new dealer-installed option, and Lincoln says suspension revisions reduce noise, vibration, and harshness. Added midyear was the LSE Appearance Package that includes unique front and rear styling, chrome wheels, spoiler, and interior cues.
