Freelander springs from the same global heritage, the same Land Rover
DNA that conceived Range Rover. With just a glance, you immediately
recognize it as a 2013 Land Rover freelander. It adds a few new elements
to the Land Rover gene pool. It's nimble. It's energetic. And as the
British would say, it's a bit cheeky. There are four available models
for 2013 of the new Land Rover Freelander. They are the Land Rover
Freelander S, SE, SE3 and HSE. Each offering unique combinations of
interior and exterior features. Standard convenience features include;
power windows, heated windshield, and specific to Freelander S includes
cloth seats, 16 inch alloy wheels and an AM/FM stereo with an in the
dash Compact Disc player.
All models of freelander still feature a variety of engines, but the
highlights are still the Rover-sourced 2.5 liter KV6 gasoline engine,
and the BMW-sourced 2.0 liter Td4 turbodiesel, the latter only available
in Europe. 2013 land rover Freelander also invented a new segment
- the compact premium 4x4 sector. 'The latest changes are designed
to improve the premium nature of it, and make it an even more desirable
and successful vehicle.'The cabin of it has been comprehensively restyled,
to improve comfort and the feeling of luxury. Its higher, "command"
driving position allows driver and passengers to see more, and the
full-time 4x4 system plus electronic controls offer more security
when conditions turn treacherous - in snow, heavy rain or when hitting
slippery patches on tarmac. There is a new facia, new instruments,
new switchgear, new door trims and new seats that offer better body
and under-thigh comfort, plus new upholstery fabrics. The rugged good
looks are there. The go-anywhere stance is there. Nevertheless the
2013 Freelander looks much better, and offers a fresh enough makeover
to cause current owners to trade up.
