The 2013 Ford Explorer was an instant success in the compact SUVs market when it was first introduced a few years ago. The XLS Sport includes alloy wheels, running boards, wheel lip moldings and an upgraded center console. The 2013 Ford Explorer XLT models comes with power driver seats, auto-dimming mirrors, and automatic headlights and the XLT Sport adds special platinum gloss exterior trim and 17-inch machine-finished wheels with all-terrain tires. 

The 2013 Ford Explorer NBX trim includes an off-road package with skid plates and heavier-duty shocks; special exterior badging; unique 17-inch wheels; a Yakima roof rack; rubber floor mats; and upgraded cloth upholstery. The 2013 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and Limited models are available with leather upholstery, seat heaters, a power front-passenger seat, power-adjustable pedals, automatic climate control and an upgraded sound system with an in-dash CD changer. Optional features on 2013 Ford Explorer are: a third-row seat, rear air conditioner and a rear DVD entertainment system. The safety features include apart from the four-wheel antilock disc brakes, the Safety Canopy system that includes front and rear side curtain airbags and a rollover sensor.
