2013 Chrysler 300M Part Review Pictures
Available satellite radio, a new navigation system, and midyear availability
of a hands-free cellular-phone link highlight the 2013 changes to
the 2013 Chrysler 300m. Appearance and major equipment are unchanged.
The 300M is built on the chassis of the Chrysler Concorde and Dodge
Intrepid, but is pitched as a European-flavored alternative with distinct
styling and a slightly shorter body. Its V6 makes 250 hp in the base
model and 255 in the performance-oriented Chrysler 300M Special. Both
use Chrysler's Auto Stick 4-speed automatic transmission with a separate
gate for manual shifting.
ABS and traction control are standard. Front side airbags are optional.
The Chrysler 300M Special has unique trim, lowered and stiffened suspension,
higher-speed tires, and xenon headlights. Both come with leather upholstery.
The 2013 Chrysler 300m parts include the Auto Stick Driver-Interactive
Transaxle Shifter, a device that gives you the option to cruise effortlessly,
and a four-wheel, fully independent suspension that is available in
three states of tune - standard touring, an optional upgrade for maximum
cornering power, and sport-tuned. Its powerful engine and firm suspension
emulate the taut, responsive driving experience usually associated
with European sedans. It isn't a BMW 5 Series, but its handling is
exceptional for a full-size front-wheel-drive sedan. And that makes
the 300M a joy to drive. Drivers seeking more zoom should consider
the 300M Special, whose air dams and side skirts herald a lower, stiffer
high-performance suspension, bold 18-inch wheels wearing massive P245/45ZR18
speed-rated tires, and a slightly more powerful version of the same
3.5-liter V6.
Changes to the Chrysler 300M are minimal for 2013. An optional factory-installed
Sirius satellite radio is available that receives 60 commercial-free
music channels and 40 talk-radio channels at any location in the continental
U.S. For the 2013 Chrysler 300m satellite radio is a new option for
both models. So is a navigation system, which includes the satellite
radio option. Also, the Special and base now come with 17-inch wheels.
The Special's previously standard 18-inch wheels are now included
in a new Ultimate Performance option package. Added midyear as a dealer-installed
option was Chrysler's UConnect, which uses the audio system as a hands-free,
wireless link to any cell phone in the vehicle. The Chrysler 300M
is designed as an American sports sedan, a throwback to the glory
days of American cars. Like its predecessors, the 300M and its 300M
Special cousin feature suspension tuning, powerful engines, and leather
trimmed-interiors. The standard engine is a 3.5-liter, aluminum High-Output,
SOHC, 24-valve, V6 that kicks out 250 horsepower at 6,400 rpm, and
delivers 250 pounds-per-foot of torque at 3,900 rpm.
